In the effort to precisely assess the patient’s internal milieu, a number of diagnostic tests may be recommended by the medical director of the Clinic.  We do regulating testing at the clinic and also supply simple test kits to provide pieces to your health profile. The labs provide the kits to the Clinic free of charge, and the patient sends payment by check or credit card when mailing in the required sample.  The labs will send the results only to a physician, and an appointment is required to review the results.  Any individual may take the initiative to ask for one of the kits at the Clinic but will need to arrange an appointment with the doctor for a date about three weeks after mailing the sample to the lab.  The appropriate number to call for each test-related appointment is given below. 

Darkfield Microscopy (live blood analysis)

This is one of three primary tests for assessing the patient’s internal milieu, and it takes place in the doctor’s office during a scheduled appointment.  The practitioner takes a blood sample from the patient’s finger and places it on a slide under the microscope.  The microscope is attached to a computer screen on which the specialist and patient view beautiful live blood. This is an opportunity to see your life force.  The view of live blood will suggest toxicity due to acidity, nutrient deficiencies, excess protein, environmental toxins, or cellular debris.  It will also reveal the presence of bacteria, parasites, yeast, and the telltale signs of poor liver function. It is a great tool for personal education.

DMPS IVs

If you ever had an amalgam filling in a tooth or if your mother ever had amalgam fillings before conception, you are at risk for mercury toxicity.  Studies of umbilical cord blood at birth show the infant has quadruple the heavy metal as the mother. Mercury and lead are the two most toxic elements on earth. Heavy metals disable the immune system, resulting in a high incidence of chronic viral and fungal syndromes.  Heavy metal toxicity causes hyperactivity, learning disability, seizures, chronic fatigue, allergies, arthritis, cancer, and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis (MS).  Heavy metals also contribute to the development of osteoporosis.

After all amalgam fillings have been removed the administration of DMPS, (a chelating agent that binds to mercury) can be used to excrete it. The DMPS is distributed through IV chelation  therapy. At the end of that appointment, the patient acquires a urinalysis kit from the Clinic.  For the ensuing 6 hours, the patient collects all urine and sends a sample of the whole off to a lab.  The lab mails a report to the physician, and at a scheduled appointment, the patient and the physician discuss the results and the kind of follow-up treatment that may be required.

Because the DMPS binds with mercury, it is essential that the urine test and chelation therapy occur simultaneously so that as the mercury is excreted an evaluation of the individual's remaining toxic metal buildup can be analyzed. The IV chelation therapy involves taking intravenously a variety of specific remedies that support the body during the excretion process. 

Hair Mineral Analysis

Research has proven that toxic metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic, nickel, palladium, and others accumulate in the brain, nervous system, and organs.  Because of their physiological and pathological effects at relatively low or trace levels, these metallic toxins, which are widespread in our environment, may cause cellular damage and a variety of symptoms.  Metal body burdens should be ruled out in any case of unresolved hyperactivity, learning disability, seizure, chronic immune dysfunction (allergy, arthritis, cancer, auto-immune diseases like multiple sclerosis or MS), or any other chronic illness where the locus has not been determined.  The Urine Toxic Metals Profile (see the information above) has become the standard for mercury determination after amalgams have been removed, but a hair mineral analysis is the primary means of discovering the overall metal body burden.  The test involves merely mailing a hair sample and form to the laboratory.

Heart Rate Variability
In addition to being an efficient pump supplying blood to our entire body, the heart is also our main electrical power center. It generates 40 to 60 times more electrical amplitude than the brain. The heartbeat, which produces an electrical signal, can be measured at any point on the body. Studies at the HeartMath Research Center are showing that the quality of that signal can affect your cells.

 

If you go to a doctor’s office for a physical exam, you may be told that your heart is beating at 70 beats per minute. This is an average figure because the time intervals between heartbeats are always changing, meaning your heart rate is always changing. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measure of these beat-to-beat changes in heart rate as the heart speeds up and slows down in different patterns. These heart rate changes are influenced by almost anything the brain and mind process, such as thoughts and sounds, but they are especially influenced by your emotions.

 

There is a two-way communication system between the heart and the brain that regulates heart rate and blood pressure and it is the interaction of signals flowing between the two that causes the heart rate to vary with each beat. Analysis of HRV is used by doctors to measure the relationship between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve systems, two important branches of this communication system. This reflection of the body’s regulation process can help determine your degree of physical fitness, and current psychological and emotional states.

 

The Nerve Express part is a non-invasive monitoring test. A chest strap sensor, which might feel cold, will be applied around your chest. There are no other sensations with this exam. After the monitor is applied you will lie down for approximately 3-4 minutes. Then, after a computer generated signal (beep), you will stand up and remain standing (3-4 minutes) until the next computer-generated beep. This concludes the test. During the test the monitoring device downloads the test data into the computer, where results are calculated by the Nerve-Express system. The total time to complete the testing is 7-10 minutes. You need no prior preparation nor will you need to remove clothing.

The Valsalva maneuver is performed by attempting to forcibly exhale while keeping the mouth and nose closed. It is used as a diagnostic tool to evaluate the condition of the heart.

The maneuver is based on the fact that when a patient forcibly exhales against a closed nose and mouth while bearing down, as if having a bowel movement, specific changes occur in blood pressure and the rate and volume of blood returning to the heart.

Variations in these characteristic heart sounds are heard, as are variables in the autonomic nerve system, which are then interpreted through the computer program and used to guide the healing program.

Hormone Panels

A variety of kits are available at the Clinic to test hormone levels for both men and women.   Hormones are powerful substances that control multiple functions throughout the body, and they need to be in balance and sufficient to maintain health and well being.  The hormone panels test saliva for the presence of one, two, or six different hormones for both men and women, depending on the need.  In the case of women, hormone levels can vary 200 to 1,500% woman to woman, so the results will reveal the specific imbalances that require individualized treatment plans.  In addition to estrogen, the hormones that can be tracked include testosterone, DHEA, progesterone, and estrogen in both men and women.

Computerized Regulation Thermography or CRT

Widely used in Europe, Computerized Regulation Thermography is a diagnostic tool that evaluates the health of each organ system. CRT is predictive of disease patterns before they become apparent.  A noninvasive procedure, it involves a highly sensitive probe that measures temperature in 68 points on the skin, which correspond to the health or disease in each organ system.  The exam thus reveals tendencies towards diseases such as breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers as well as stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, and heart problems.  In addition, it can reveal allergic reactions and the hidden locations of infected or toxic tissue in the teeth and sinuses.  CRT should be used instead of mammography as a screening test for breast cancer. Mammography is done using ionizing radiation, which is a known carcinogen. Additionally, CRT is a non-invasive full body test of overall health.  

Vega Testing

 The Vega Machine is a sophisticated electrodermal screening test based on the research of Dr. R. Voll.  The Vega Machine’s (EAV, Electroacupuncture According to Voll), purpose is to evaluate the patient at the energetic level.  Vega testing is a function that is essentially a computerized substitute for kinesiology muscle testing.
